Presidential elections will be held on 29 July 2018. Be alert in the lead up to and following the elections. The security situation throughout Mali will deteriorate with little warning. Avoid political rallies, protests and large gatherings. Monitor local media and other sources for developments which may affect your security. The level of our advice has not changed. Reconsider your need to travel to parts of southern Mali and do not travel to any other areas, including Bamako.

Laos

Exercise normal safety precautions
25 July 2018
On 23 July 2018, a dam collapse in Attapeu Province released large volumes of water into the Xe Pian River in southern Laos. Due to recent extreme weather conditions rivers and waterways in many parts of Laos may reach dangerous levels in coming days. Monitor the media and follow instructions and advice of local authorities (See Natural disasters). The level of our advice has not changed. Exercise normal safety precautions in Laos overall. Higher levels apply in some parts of the country.
